404: Hate not found

Obama’s speech: rhetorically skillful, politically brave, moderately moving and inspirational. I have objections — oh, do I have objections — but they can be set aside for the moment. Senator Obama is first and foremost a capable politician, and he is going to tailor everything he says to his target audience. I am not his target audience. I am not supposed to fall back in awe. I can accept that.

A friend of mine recently told me that the internet had failed him: He could not find good, new porn online.

This is why I am so unbelievably grateful for fandom. But when I want to get off, I know that inside 10 minutes, I can find a well written piece of smut on some community or rec list or newsletter or message board, and I can use it as a launchpad for masturbatory delight. As long as I’m willing to tolerate the occasional Snarry or McShep AU, of course.

So, dear fandom, thanks for the orgasms. As long as you’re kicking, I know I’ll never run out of porn.

I choose YOU!

Yeah, pretty much.

Stop thinking with your dick

They understand the problems society faces, they can think up a variety of possible solutions to those problems, they can evaluate the costs and benefits and risks of potential courses of action, and they act from a genuine desire for the general well-being.

It’s been a while since I actually expected our elected leaders to be honest, moral, or law-abiding. (more…)
